Zeeshan Zainuddeen is the Principal – HR & Organisation Transformation of WorkAnts Consulting, a boutique HR & Organisation Transformation advisory. With over 12 years of senior HR leadership experience across India and GCC markets, spanning manufacturing companies, hospitality brands, family enterprises, and cross-border operations in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, Zeeshan founded WorkAnts to give scaling businesses access to the strategic HR thinking that large corporations take for granted, calibrated to their scale, their budget, and the realities of operating in North Malabar, Kerala, and across the GCC.

Why WorkAnts

I didn't start WorkAnts to build a consulting firm. I started it because I kept seeing the same thing.

Businesses with real momentum, run by leaders who cared deeply about what they were building, being held back by HR that was still operating the way it did when they had 15 people. No frameworks. Compliance gaps nobody had mapped. Hiring that relied on networks instead of process. Performance conversations that never happened. Org structures that made sense once and had stopped making sense a long time ago.

I’d been a General Manager HR across manufacturing companies, hospitality brands, and family enterprises in India and the Middle East. I’d built HR functions from scratch, restructured ones that were broken, managed compliance on both sides of the India-GCC equation, placed leadership hires that genuinely changed the direction of businesses, and sat in leadership meetings making the case for why the people agenda needed to be treated as a business priority not an afterthought

What I kept seeing wasn’t a capability gap. It was an access gap. The knowledge existed. The frameworks existed. But the family enterprise in Kozhikode, the manufacturing firm in Kannur, the QSR chain expanding across Kerala they couldn’t get senior HR thinking at a price or in a format that made sense for them.
